Often called the Acopio for short, this is PV's main pound. The Acopio rescues stray cats and dogs off the street, gives educational programs about how to take care of pets in local primary schools, and holds sterilization programs.
Every Friday from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the Acopio holds an Adoption Day at Plaza Caracol in front of Maskota's.

A non-profit organization that rescues animals off the street and finds foster homes for them until they can be adopted. Every Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the SPCA holds an Adoption Day at Los Mangos Library where you can come and see the animals. To adopt, all you need is ID and $500 pesos for dogs or $300 pesos for cats. In addition to their official website, the SPCA has a blog where you can see the animals.
