Surfing in Banderas Bay

Banderas Bay is home to some great surfing and some great surfing personalities. Kalle Carranza is a Puerto Vallarta native, one of Mexico’s greatest surfers, and a personal friend of PV Pulse's.  Here's what Kalle has to say about the area's surf scene:

“Banderas Bay has produced a great many surf champions. It has a variety of sand point, reef, rocks, lefts, rights, and beach breaks. The beauty of the place is also exceptional. Unfortunately, many people with money are trying to keep surfers away form their well-deserved beaches, but “los surfos” always find a way to reach them.

In my opinion, the best surfing in Mexico is being done on the beaches of Banderas Bay. The surfing is new, fresh, aggressive, with radical tricks. As a place, Banderas Bay is paradise."
