Actor's Business Toolbox
Do you want to become an actor? Two local residents, acting coach Liv Boughn and photographer Josef Kandoll W. are teaming up to help you with a service called the Actor’s Business Toolbox. The toolbox is a package that includes a consultation, make-up and photo shoot, and photo selection. At the end, you’ll receive a disc that includes a commercial and a theatrical headshot. Boughn and Kandoll W. are offering special summer rates. There are two upcoming photo shoots on July 22nd and August 4th, with the consultations taking place in the week prior to each shoot. Concerts at Los Mangos
On July 22nd at 6:00 P.M. and the 23rd at 7:00 P.M., Los Mangos Library is hosting two concerts. The show on Thursday will feature Alejandro Villarreal on the cello and José Ramón Serran on piano. On Friday, Alejandro Villarreal will switch to piano, and will be accompanied by soprano singer Fabiola Aguirre. Both concerts will take place in the library’s Carlos Munguía Fregoso room. On July 27th, social group Expats in Vallarta is hosting its inaugural event for its new offshoot, Expats in Vallarta Young Generation (EVYG). This kickoff party will be held at Pincho & Ole Tapas Lounge (Morelos Street 664) at 8:00 P.M. Just as with all Expats in Vallarta events, admission is free. Cornejo Quiroz Orphanage Benefit
Outback Steakhouse is hosting a benefit dinner for the Maximo Cornejo Quiroz Orphanage on July 28th at 8:00 P.M. Tickets are $250 pesos per person, and proceeds benefit the orphanage, a non-profit shelter which has been operating since 1993 and which currently takes care of over fifty children. Medical Tourism Conference
The Global Medical Tourism Conference & Expo will take place from August 24th through the 26th at the Casamagna Marriot. Medical tourism is the fastest-growing sector of the health care industry. On average, medical costs are 50% cheaper in Mexico than the U.S., and it’s estimated that medical tourism could soon account for another 20% of Mexico’s tourism industry.
