The 16th edition of the Pan American Games continues this weekend with plenty of activity in Puerto Vallarta. Every competition in the region will be awarding medals.

First, the beach volleyball last stages will take place at the Pan American Stadium. On Friday, it will be a great battle between Mexico and Brazil. At 11:00 am, they will meet on the mens semifinals for the right to play for the gold on Saturday.

Later, at 2:00 pm, Mexico’s women team will try to beat the Brazilians, considered by many as the best in the world. A great atmosphere is expected at the PanAm Stadium, as the Mexicans have conquered the public with their great effort, but the Brazilians won’t be easy to beat.

On Saturday, the men beach volleyball bronze medal match will start at 11:00 am and the final at 1:00 pm. This same day but at the API Maritime Terminal, the women Open Water swimming event will be taking place at 9:00 am, followed by the men competition starting at 11:30 am.

Sunday is the day of the triathlon. It will begin early in the morning with the women starting at 8:00 am, and the men at 11:00 am. During the triathlon, some roads near the Maritime Terminal will be closed, specifically in the Hotel Zone and Fluvial Vallarta. If you arrive on Sunday, or need to go the Airport, make your plans in advance as long delays are expected.

Also on Sunday, Sailing finals will be held at the Vallarta Yacht Club. The competitions are scheduled at 1:00 pm. If you would like to watch the event closely, there is a boat provided by Paradise Village that will be taking spectators to the sea, near to the competition. Sunday morning at 9:00 am, there will be a stand at the lobby of Paradise Village hotel, making reservations for the boat. Access is free, but there is a limited number of places, so it will be better if you arrive earlier than 9:00 am.

Then by Monday, the “Fiesta de America” in Puerto Vallarta will be finished, so this weekend is your last chance to get a bit of the PanAm spirit.
