This image follows up the slogan used during the campaign to bring the tianguis to the Banderas Bay: “Two paradises, one destination”.

The colorful ring of the left is based on the ancient ball game played throughout pre-hispanic Mexico, divided into five parts of different color; each color is supposed to represent something “Mexican”, but we won’t get into that. The interesting part is the right side, where under the bold México, appear the logos of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit together.
Showcasing PVR (Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit) as one destination might seem natural and logic, but that hasn’t always been the case. These efforts are part of a new way of understanding the region as a whole that is getting traction among business owners, who have noticed that a united destination is a stronger destination.
Some examples of this new approach are: plans for an integrated urban development of the Banderas Bay, a new mobile app called WiP-PVR that will include both Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, and the organization of important events as the Tianguis Turistico and the Pan American Games in collaboration.
They say that one plus one equals three, as the total is bigger than the sum of its parts. The Tianguis Turistico 2012 is proof of that, and hopefully the beginning of many things to come.
