As part of the revitalization project of the New Malecon, the City of Puerto Vallarta will be lending different kinds of bicycles, kayaks and strollers to the people that visit this iconic seawall promenade.

According to Vallarta Opina, the idea is “to consolidate the Malecon as a family space, and bring life to it during daytime” said Salvador González Reséndiz, mayor of Puerto Vallarta.

Renting bikes programs are now a common practice at important cities around the world, like Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and Mexico City. Renting strollers is normally used at malls and shopping centers. Adding kayaks is a distinctive touch for a beach destination like Puerto Vallarta.

The program is called “Ven a Vivir el Malecon con tu Familia” (Come to experience the Malecon with your family) and it’s important to highlight that the service will be completely free of charge.
