Form Follows Funk is an exhibition of architect Luis Echeverría at Haus Der Kunst Gallery in collaboration with Estudio Tres un Cuarto. Form Follows Funk features three pieces designed by Echeverría with organic forms related with music and mathematic algorithms, translating them into furniture and architectonic elements for the public space.
Estudio Tres Un Cuarto is an interdisciplinary studio that turns to philosophy and music in search of inspiration for its designs. With Form Follows Funk the goal of the studio is to reformulate the old architectonic theories and give way to a new functional (or should we say funktional?) architecture based in artistic structures.
The piece So What, inspired in Miles Davis track, is the result of a geometric studio over the musical score of the track. The result is a fascinating bench of smooth forms and soft lines.
