As the founding Director of ASPV, Selitzer has been instrumental in creating one of the foremost educational organizations in the country, and the only accredited institution on the west coast of México. Selitzer was also the first school director outside of Mexico City to sign an agreement with the National University of Mexico to offer the UNAM program to his students. This committment to further education is evident in the fact that over 500 students have gone on to study at universities in the United States, Mexico and beyond. The AAIE award was in recognition of the quality of education that is available at ASPV.

It is a diverse, global organization that provides a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas, whose mission is to inspire and support international educational leaders to achieve excellence and innovation in education by creating a dynamic, global community.
