Tourists and residents have been evacuated from the islands of Holbox and Mujeres, because of the strength of Rina.
Nevertheless, Rina has been weakening and it seems that by the time it makes landfall, it will be already a tropical storm, which is still dangerous but not as much as it was once expected.
As of 7 a.m. CST, Rina was producing maximum sustained winds near 75 mph (120 kph) and was centered about 115 miles south of Cozumel and about 90 miles east-northeast of Chetumal, the National Hurricane Center said. Rina was moving to the northwest near 6 mph (9 kph).
We are with our brothers from Cancun and the Riviera Maya, hoping that Rina keeps weakening and that everybody over there, can go back to their normal life as soon as possible.
