Independent 1-day itinerary for cruise ship passengers:
• Breakfast onboard the ship.
• Visit the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. Entrance fee: $50 pesos. Located at Km.24 Carretera a Barra de Navidad, 30 minutes south of the Romantic Zone. You can take a taxi directly to the Botanical Gardens for around $300 - 400 pesos each way, or take an "El Tuito" bus from the corner of Venustiano Carranza and Aguacate streets. The bus runs every 20 minutes or so, and costs $20 pesos each way.
• Lunch at the Botanical Gardens restaurant.
• Return to Puerto Vallarta to the Romantic Zone for shopping.
• Walk the Malecon and see the sculptures.
• End the day with dinner at Tino’s for great seafood. Located at Paseo Diaz Ordaz 920 on the top floor. 223-2808.
• Take a taxi back to the ship.
