The theme for our current photo contest is "Summer." Even in a perpetually warm beach town like Puerto Vallarta, summer brings a change of pace. The wet season begins, bringing the rain, spectacular lightning shows, and even better sunsets than usual. Things slow down. The area's vegetation explodes, turning the mountains jungle-green. What makes you think of summer? Is it flip-flops and limonada, sunglasses and ice cream? Or is it something else? Send your best summer shot to shelby@pvpulse.com.

Welcome to PV Pulse's monthly photo contest. Here's how it works: each month, we'll give you a new theme. Send us your best photo related to the theme. At the end of the month, the staff of pv pulse will vote on the submissions and choose one winner, whose photo will be featured here and on the homepage of the site. Here are the rules:

· This contest is open to anyone over 18 years of age, whether you live here or have visited.
· Photos must be in JPEG format, no larger than 1 MB in size.
· Please submit only one photo per contest – choose your best single shot for the theme.
· No explicit photos, please – this is a family-friendly site.
· To submit your photo, please attach it to an e-mail and send it to shelby@pvpulse.com with the subject “Photo of the Month Contest.” In your email, please include your name, where you live, and a caption for your photo that describes the subject and where it was taken.
· Photos must have been taken in Puerto Vallarta or the Banderas Bay region.

Submissions will be accepted from May 27 until July 31 at midnight CST. The winner will be announced on August 2 . Good luck!
