Between the two members of this duo, there is enough musical talent to cover a whole band!
“Ella,” or “she,” refers to d’Rachael. Born into a very artistic family, d’Rachael began studying classical flute and piano at a young age. She has also trained as a vocalist, and taught herself to play the harp. In the early 1980s, she moved with her children from Tucson, Arizona to Yelapa, a small village just south of Puerto Vallarta. She paid her dues, and soon began getting attention for her talented and varied performances. Today, she is seen as a foundation of Vallarta’s local music scene, and is a recording artist for the PV label Wow Recordings. She has been received PV’s “Best Musician” award multiple times.
“El,” or “he,” refers to Antonio Chavez. Growing up in Guadalajara, Chavez also took to music as a youngster, learning a number of instruments such as the piano, accordion, bass, marimba, and drums. Before joining up with d’Rachael, Chavez built an established music career, touring throughout both Mexico and the United States.
