A Pleasurable Dining Experience
The very first thing you notice when you step off the gracious terrace and into the dining area at Ginger Garden Lounge is the fresh, soothing scent of lemongrass and ginger. This careful attention to the details will characterize your dining experience.
“Ginger is not a name, it’s an experiential concept for all your senses,” San Francisco transplant and co-owner Kim Pace tells me at a recent meeting in her salon. The room is furnished in dark natural wickers that set off the crimson, turquoise and bamboo palette. An Indonesian Buddha smiles by the door. “As an ingredient, ginger transcends most menu and beverage items, but you’ll also find it in the lotions in the restrooms, and even as a fragrance.” Outside, on the terrace, a ginger flower blooms in the garden.

Comfortable and Stylish Indoor-Outdoor Space
Ginger is divided into two areas – indoor and outdoor. The garden terrace has ample seating at individual tables or on low cushioned couches in the private cabanas. Though I visited in the day, it was easy to see that at night, with a DJ and candlelight, this place would be both lively and romantic.
Inside, the tables are set with angular white plates, chopsticks wrapped neatly in cloth napkins, and heavy long-stemmed turquoise water glasses. A bar – renowned for its selection of specialty drinks – runs the length of one wall.
Both spaces are clearly suited to providing an exceptional dining experience, and to hosting a party. On Friday nights, DJ Mau spins. Guests can enjoy a quiet dinner in the cabana or socialize with friends over cocktails and shishas (flavored tobacco smoked communally in a hookah) at the large community table.

Favorite Dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and China
The Ginger Garden Lounge menu features select dishes prepared using Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Chinese techniques, tied together with the restaurant’s flagship ingredient: ginger. The menu offers a variety of indulgent curries, sauces and stir-fries, and the grilled brochettes and entrees provide a lighter, healthier alternative. Indeed, the venue caters to many diets with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan offerings.
A drink at Ginger Garden Lounge is exactly that – many of their cocktails, like the sake-tini, are house creations. Not in the mood for an alcoholic beverage? Ginger also has a tea bar offering specialty teas, lemon gingerade and Asian lemonade with lychee.
The food menu is extensive, with a variety of choices for starters, sides, soups, specialties, and desserts.
