With over 250 restaurants covering a broad range of cuisines, including French, Italian, German, Argentine, Chinese, Japanese (and of course, Mexican!) and innovative gourmet restaurants you'd normally only find in larger cities, it’s no wonder Puerto Vallarta has become a culinary center of Mexico and a favorite destination for epicureans. The city’s reputation as a great place to eat has grown so much that PV is now home to two annual food festivals. Every May, during Restaurant Week, dozens of Vallarta’s most prestigious restaurants offer set menus with three-course meals at big discounts. And during the Festival Gourmet International each November, famous chefs come to Vallarta from around the world, collaborating with local chefs to produce new dishes and special menus.
